In Mexico, 23,000 cases of breast cancer are detected each year, with 7,000 deaths from a disease with a high survival rate when detected early. There are several methods to obtain it, the simplest and cheapest is breast self-examination. Unfortunately many taboos, both personal and social, prevent many women from performing self-examination, which increases the possibility of a positive diagnosis.
At Grupo LVT, as a communication agency led by women, we believe that we must help and raise awareness. We want to transmit and promote the importance of early detection, without taboos. That is our way of joining forces to take care of each other and prevent cases from continuing to grow, because creativity is also a tool for change and support.
In this campaign we decided to show breasts without taboos, Break the taboobs, inviting self-examination and raising awareness.
